Jay-Z explains keeping his Cool

Ever since his feud with Nas, Jay-Z has been untouchable on all levels. While becoming one of America's biggest businessmen, he has still maintained his street credibility. This comes after being dissed by several rappers, including Lil Wayne, Jim Jones, 50 Cent, and Cam'ron.



Some of the disses became very personal. The rappers spoke of how Jay-Z looks, calling him a camel. Jim Jones went as far as to say Beyonce was too good for him. Jones invited Beyonce to come chill with him. Through all of this, Jay-Z remained mum in his responses.



Because of his responsibilities as a businessman, Jay-Z could only say so much in response. There have been times when Jay-Z wanted to say more. 50 Cent provoked Jay-Z late in 2009 when he said Jay-Z was a punk and was afraid to diss rappers after losing to Nas. The G-Unit rapper went as far as to use Jay's former protege, Beanie Sigel, against him.



Gwyneth Paltrow recently interviewed Jay-Z and she asked him how he maintains his cool with so much thrown at him at all times. Jay-Z replied, having the coolest women around him at all times, helps him keep his cool at all times. No matter what is thrown in his direction, Jay-Z still has Beyonce, he still has his successful businesses and his enemies are still jealous.

Teyana Taylor sought for questioning by Police over Altercation

Last week, former Pharrell protege, Teyana Taylor got into an altercation at a Burbank, California recording studio. Taylor ended up assaulting a woman there. The two women had a disagreement that turned violent.



Reports say the fight turned violent quickly. The usually quiet and reserved Taylor easily beat the woman. She was said to have punched the woman in the face multiple times. Taylor also stomped her head and stomach with boots on.
Following the fight, the woman was removed from the studio and taken to a local hospital. At the hospital, the woman was treated for cuts and bruises. It appears as if she does not have any major injuries.

While nobody was hurt, the trouble is just beginning for Teyana Taylor. After the altercation, Taylor also left the studio. Apparently, she was trying to avoid the police and questioning. Currently, law enforcement in Burbank are searching for Teyana Taylor in an attempt to question her. With the extent of the woman's injuries, it seems possible that Taylor could be hit with assault charges.

L.A. Reid talks Def Jam departure

Last month, news surfaced about L.A. Reid leaving Def Jam. He left his role with the label for a job as a host on Simon Cowell's new series, "The X Factor." In many ways, the job is much better than the job at Def Jam. Reid had been with Def Jam for nearly ten years and helped establish Ne-Yo and Rihanna, among others.



L.A. Reid has finally broken his silence about leaving Def Jam for the new Simon Cowell project. The executive said he will miss his old job, while he will love his new one. Reid said it was actually a tough decision to leave Def Jam. He had been with the label for so long and he had a hard time leaving for a new venture.



While L.A. Reid will miss Def Jam, he is very excited about judging the talent on "The X Factor." Walking out the door of Def Jam was indeed tough on him. But, "The X Factor" was an offer Reid could not refuse. Now, he is waiting in anticipation for filming to begin. Throughout his career, L.A. Reid has been around talented artists, so he is truly one to judge.

Toni Braxton considers doing "Playboy"

When 2011 began, Toni Braxton announced she was asked by Playboy to do a spread. The feature would have her nude, but she would be paid. Still, it made Braxton do a lot of thinking.

As Toni Braxton is trying to put her career back on track, it would be good publicity. But, as a mother, she does not want her children to see. This is one of the reasons she turned Playboy down.

Because of her responsibilites as a mother, Braxton has put Playboy on hold. But, with her reality show premiere around the corner, she needs as many methods of promotion as possible. This is one reason why she has not turned Playboy down completely. She is strongly considering working with them on a nude photo shoot.
Toni Braxton said she is still not in a major rush because she has until June to make a final decision. Until then, she will continue to weigh her options.

Natalie Nunn blasts back at Amber Rose

The most-popular love triangle in hip hop has to be Amber Rose/Wiz Khalifa/Natalie Nunn. In December, Nunn confirmed rumors that she was indeed dating Wiz Khalifa. A month later, Wiz Khalifa announced he was dating Amber Rose. The same month, Nunn revealed she introduced them and Rose took her man.



For four months, Natalie Nunn has been insulting Amber Rose and her ex, Wiz Khalifa. But, she has not been able to receive a full response from either. Yesterday, however, Amber Rose broke her silence. Rose said she would pray for Natalie Nunn, hoping she receives the help she deserves.



In February, Wiz Khalifa addressed the situation and he was insulted by Natalie Nunn. She said she wonders why she bothers dissing either of them when she has a college education. Nunn went on to call herself a bigger star than both Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa. She revealed Wiz came on to her and Rose begged to be her friend.



This time around, Natalie Nunn asked Amber Rose if she liked "fucking her sloppy seconds." Nunn posted a video rant on YouTube about Amber Rose being with Wiz Khalifa.

Lil Jon denies being a part of "Club Lil Jon" porno film

Despite his eccentric style, Lil Jon is considered one of the smartest men in hip hop. He used his "crunk" style to his advantage and he dominated the charts for three years consecutively. Along the way, he helped revive E-40's career and reintroduce Too $hort.



Lil Jon was successful because he was willing to work outside of the box. While most rappers were focusing on clothing lines and shoe deals, Lil Jon was focused on Crunk Juice. He took his label, BME, to the top, but he did it with an independent distributor.



Along the way, Lil Jon also got into the movie business. But, he was not doing movies like most rappers. Instead, Lil Jon focused on doing porno flicks. These films were major successes and he wanted to put more together, as he is preparing his reintroduction to the game. But, his role on Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" has Lil Jon re-thinking his image.



For years, Lil Jon has been rugged with his image and now he is trying to tone things down. Currently, major corporate big-wigs are scouting Lil Jon because of his Trump connections. Because of this, Lil Jon is making himself look as professional as possible. The first move the Atlanta producer made was getting rid of his film ventures. Despite producing the Club Lil Jon flick, Lil Jon has cut all ties with the video and he has refused to promote it. The film company, however, will continue to promote it.

Rihanna says her father was abused

Last month, Rihanna had a very public argument with her father, disowning him. This came after her father, Ronald Fenty, leaked stories about her to the media. According to Rihanna, half of the stories were not even true. Because of this, she cut her father out of her life.



In the time since then, Rihanna has been opening up about her father's abusive background. The pop star has made it abundantly clear she wants nothing to do with him. Meanwhile, her father has been trying to work his way back into his daughter's life.



Rihanna has been openly upset with her father, but has said she still loves him. However, she is upset that he sold her out for tabloid money. She is also angry at his abusive ways and she wants him to change. Until this change comes, Rihanna will not be associating with her father. But, she did release revealing information.



Recently, Rihanna revealed her father was abused as a child. Usually, abused children grow up to be abusers themselves. Rihanna said this is what happened with her father and she grew up under it. This may explain her relationship with Chris Brown and its violent ending. However, Rihanna is determined to break the abusive cycle and live a positive life.

Amber Rose finally responds to Natalie Nunn

Last December, Natalie Nunn announced she was dating rap newcomer, Wiz Khalifa. The announcement capped off an exciting year of 2010 for the Pittsburgh rapper. Less than a month after Nunn confirmed dating the rapper, Wiz Khalifa admitted he was dating model, Amber Rose, the ex of Kanye West.



The news did not sit well with Natalie Nunn. Beginning in January, she has been making several nasty comments about the couple. Nunn said it was Wiz who came on to her. She also said Amber Rose bent over backwards to become her friend. Her return for her letting them in was them hurting her in the worst way.



Over the past few months, Amber Rose has been linked with several high-profile men. In only a week, she was tied to Fabolous, Amare Stoudemire, Wiz Khalifa, Reggie Bush, and Rosa Acosta. Nunn called Rose a whore for being involved with so many different people. Rose hit back at Nunn then, but she did not mention her by name.



Finally having had enough, Amber Rose has officially given her response to Natalie Nunn. Amber Rose went to her Twitter account to address the situation with Natalie Nunn. She said she was going to pray for Nunn so she can get the kind of help she needs. Rose went on to say Natalie Nunn is nothing more than a little girl looking for attention. Amber Rose feels as if Natalie Nunn is using her past relationship with Wiz Khalifa as a means of promotion for her own career.
